Nominating an Agent to assist with your BAS and Tax return support can be a lengthy process, but it will be required for anyone seeking professional help and ongoing support.
Only you can do this- Agents do not have access to self-appoint.
Step 1: Set up your MyGovID
This is an app needed to verify your personal identity and allow access to all online government services.
If you don't already have this set up, you can start here
You will need:
a device compatible with the app
your personal email address (not a shared business email)
Step 2: Link MyGov ID to RAM (Relationship Authorisation Manager)
The RAM connects your ABN with the MyGov app (and then any subsequent businesses) in the portal to also access and manage the online services in one place.
The principal authority of the Business (typically the director for a Pty Ltd or individual for a sole trader business) will need to connect FIRST before any others join.
To do this online, you must:
be an eligible sole trader or business (company associate)
have an Australian passport
Have a strong MyGovID set up
If you do not meet this criteria, then you can phone 1300 287 539 and select option 3 during operating hours to complete a proof of identity check. Check out more information on the page 'How to Link' here
Watch the video demonstration 'How to Link' here
Begin this step and link your business here
Additional RAM support pages are available here: https://info.authorisationmanager.gov.au/help-managing-business-links
Step 3: Log in to Online Services using MyGovID
Now your MyGov account is set up and linked ot your business, you will log into the account, log into your portal here (https://onlineservices.ato.gov.au/business/)
Step 4: Nominate your authorised agent
This is where you nominate your agent to access the BAS and Tax details for the account and receive copies of ATO communication.
From the Online Services portal go to:
Profile > Agent Details
Select Add, and search for:
Tax Agent Name: Lawpath Tax and Advisory Pty Ltd
Tax Agent Number: 26256935
Complete declartion
Submit
Step 5: Let us know!
The Agent does not automatically get notified once appointed and has 28 days to accept. Let Lawpath know you have completed the Tax Agent nomination by reaching out to your Client Manager or email [email protected] with your Company Name and TFN!
