Why has my company registration been 'Flagged'?

Understanding 'Flagged' Company Registrations

Updated over a year ago

This just means the company will be manually reviewed by ASIC as opposed to being automated through their system. Reasons for manual review may include:

  • Company name identical to another registered name

  • Company name includes unusual words not in the English dictionary

  • Verification of alternative address provided

  • Issue verifying the directors/shareholders' identity.

  • Other

As a result, your company may take a little longer than usual to be registered. This can be up to 30 minutes to 4 hours later. There is no further action required for 'Flagged' companies until ASIC approves or rejects the company.

How will I be notified that my company has been registered?

Lawpath will send you an email confirmation once your company has been successfully registered. You'll also receive a confirmation in your Lawpath activity feed. To view your company's details, head to 'Registrations' of your Lawpath account.

What if I have not received confirmation that my company has been registered?

If it has been longer than the normal timeframe (over 4 hours) and you have not been contacted by the team, please reach out to our Company Registrations team. You can call in directly on 1800 529 728 (2), or contact our Live Chat Support team who can put you in touch. They'll be able to provide you with an update on your application.
